An art journal can bring together creative elements to form a personal, visual record. In this course we’ll play with collage techniques, a variety of media, plus writing prompts for inspiration.
You’ll fill the pages of a journal using any combination of the following materials: magazines, art paper, assorted ephemera, photographs, paint or markers, stamps and ink, and meaningful words. No previous experience necessary and no rules—just a desire to put creative expression to the page.

Instructor: Susan Richards
Format: Discussion, demonstration, hands-on creating with individual feedback or one-on-one instruction.
Level: No experience necessary. Absolute beginner, beginner to intermediate, all levels are welcome!
Medium: Journal, paper, mixed media, paint, glue, drawing and writing utensils.
Technique: Cutting, tearing, painting, drawing, pasting and some writing.
Materials: All materials will be provided. Everyone is encouraged to bring something for notes, any old magazines to be repurposed, or art papers you have on hand (stamps, photos, ticket stubs, etc.).
Tuition: $80
